Technology changes fast!
When your business uses WordPress (which we recommend), it’s important to make sure that you are always running the most up-to-date version. Developers around the world are constantly making improvements and updates so things continue to run smoothly. They fix bugs and glitches, combat security loopholes, and add features.
Additionally, every theme and plugin on your website is authored by an individual or team, separate from the WordPress team. They too are constantly working to keep their code up-to-date, bug-free and secure.
Sometimes these updates outpace your website and they can’t be installed anymore (like trying to add new apps to your old iPhone) or they just “don’t play well with others”. Which can cause the breakdown of your website. The best way to avoid this is regular updates. You take your car in for regularly scheduled maintenance, right? Same applies to your website.
Then there’s site security.
Updates can prevent hackers from reaching your website and causing mayhem. The longer you go without updating things, the more at-risk your website becomes for hackers to invade. Do you really want them to steal your data, confidential information, and/or bury a snippet of malware in your website? Nope. Thought not.
If you want your site to run smoothly and efficiently, your website needs updates. Big ones, small ones, and everything in-between.
In 2021 83% of hacked WordPress websites were not updated. Keeping your website up to date is critical to the security of your website.
But who has time for all that?!
We do. And we’re here for you.
Every month we will…
- Run a full backup of your site
- Update WordPress, your theme and all plugins
- Make tweaks to settings to assure your site is running optimally
- Confirm that your site is running on the latest, stable version of PHP
- Clear out all caches and test to make sure all updates went smoothly
- If something breaks because of these updates, we will troubleshoot and fix it
We will perform these updates at the beginning of each calendar month. You won’t even have to remind us!
The cost is $50 per month, billed automatically. It’s a small price to pay to know that your website is always performing at it’s best.
NOTE: Maintenance plans are only available for WordPress sites we built with hosting access.
NOTE: All updates included must be technical in nature. They do NOT include text/content changes, typos, fixing broken links, or any other content-related changes/issues that have nothing to do with site/theme/WordPress/plugin updates.
